A New Standard in HR
It’s an exciting time in the HR profession. Now more than ever, HR teams across the globe are required to assume a greater leadership role, contributing to the strategic direction of their organizations. It’s no longer just about what you know — but about how you do your job.
That’s where the new global HR certification from SHRM come in.
What is the new certification?
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest association dedicated to HR management, announced in May 2014 that it was developing a new certification based on the SHRM Competency Model. The research process was rigorous, and the finished model incorporates input from more than 30,000 HR professionals in 33 countries.
The new credentials are the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), for early- to mid-career professionals, and the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), for those with advanced experience in the industry.
They are among the first HR certifications that focus on teaching and testing the practical, real-life information today’s professionals need. This approach ensures you have the technical skills as well as the behavioral competencies to excel in your HR career — wherever it takes you.
