Winning in Vegas
Las Vegas was a winning city for us this year. While there for an annual conference hosted by the Association for Continuing Higher Education, we were honored to receive three awards. They are the Crystal Marketing Award (for our Casino Night fundraiser); the Leadership Award (given to our dean, Barbara Calhoun); and the Older Adult Model Program Award (for OLLI).
In the photo, Davia Lassiter, marketing manager, poses for a picture with Dr. Brian Van Horn, ACHE president, right, and Fred Varnado, longtime friend and director of the continuing education department at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Besides our exciting award wins, the conference is also an educational opportunity. This year’s theme, “Winning Together: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work,” focused on using collaboration to share ideas, innovate and ultimately build better programs for you, our customer. We can’t wait to start putting some of what we learned this week into practice here at the College of Continuing and Professional Education.
