New Spring Break Camps
Update: We no longer offer Spring Break Camps, but your young learner can experience programs like these — culinary, robotics, teen leadership and more — at Summer University each year June through July.
You already know Summer University combines learning and fun for two months every summer. Now, we’re bringing all of that creativity, energy and education to spring break!
So what’s better than the beach this spring? Picture this — your choice of four of our new Spring Break Camps, ranging in age for fourth-graders all the way up to high school seniors. We’ve also added Camp Extended Care as an additional option, available until 6 p.m.
It all starts April 6-10 here at KSU Center. Here’s what we have planned:
LEGO Robotics Engineering & Programming with EV3 (Grades 5-7)
It’s time to welcome a new bot! EV3 presents opportunities for new builds, programming skills and challenges. This hands-on camp encourages students to use teamwork, problem-solving and creativity as they move through the process of building, testing and evaluating their bots.
Chet Austin Teen Leadership Academy (Grades 6-8)
Teach your teen invaluable leadership skills in this SummerU favorite. Character, self-confidence, ethics, styles of leadership and the importance of community service are discussed and practiced. Special guest speakers are scheduled to appear.
App Game Design (Grades 7-12)
Create an exciting mobile game that’s fun to play and show your friends. You’ll also start to learn the building blocks of development as well as the basics of game design. Your app game is perfect for iOS or Android.
Junior Chefs Academy (Grades 4-6)
Bring your chef hat! Aspiring chefs will work in a full kitchen and prep and cook 2 daily recipes. Advanced measuring, mixing, cutting, cooking and baking skills will be taught as students learn the importance of fresh ingredients and healthy choices.
We’re also sharing giveaways, photos, videos and more on our SummerU Facebook page. Like us to stay connected!
