We are excited to announce a new partnership with the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC). The new relationship will benefit our Medical Billing and Coding Specialist students looking to enter the rapidly growing healthcare field.
What is AAPC?
Founded in 1988, AAPC provides education and professional certification to physician-based medical coders and elevates the standards of medical coding by providing student training, certification, further education, networking, and job opportunities. AAPC has since expanded beyond outpatient coding to include training and credentials in documentation and coding audits, inpatient hospital/facility coding, regulatory compliance, and physician practice management.
Our Director Speaks
We sat down with Andrea Cochran, Healthcare program director, to learn more about the significance of the new partnership.
Why the partnership? AAPC is the industry gold standard organization for individuals looking to obtain a certification in physician office coding. Our program helps to prepare students for this field and exam, so we felt that a partnership would elevate the quality of our program and keep us current with industry standards.
How does this benefit the program? Our instructors have gone through a rigorous instructor certification program to obtain their professional medical coding instructor certification, and we are able to deliver AAPC published and authored exclusive curriculum. Because of this partnership, our students will also receive their membership with AAPC, textbooks and coding materials, and the CPC certification exam.
How exclusive is this partnership? This sets us apart from our competitors. We are the only school in the metro Atlanta area to offer this partnership.
