How did you get started?
I started my interior design career in 1993. By 2006, I became a member of the Accredited Staging Professionals where I developed and wrote a course on staging that I teach for Georgia Association of Realtors in many locations all over Georgia. My passion for teaching does not stop here—I also teach children and adults private sewing lessons from my home.
What can one expect to learn in your class?
Students will have the opportunity to learn how to create a storyboard. A storyboard is an overview of different components that will help you create a complete and comforting atmosphere for the room.
Being able to create a storyboard can help you avoid costly mistakes as you decorate your house or try to complete a project for a client. You will also be able to learn how to interpret the right size of furniture, how to choose colors that complement different moods or personalities.
I also like to keep my curriculum methods updated since styles change constantly so students can learn about the latest interior design trends. Students will enjoy going on a field trip to see an interior designer conduct a consultation. Later, I will evaluate you as you do a consultation and provide you with feedback to improve your process.
