    Ditch the 9-to-5 with these Programs

    Does the thought of sitting in an office all day make you cringe? If so, you’re not alone. The job industry is rapidly changing along with how positions are performed. According to the Business Insider article, The 9-to-5 job is dying, it’s become less risky for workers to go solo and companies have become more open to hiring freelancers and independent contractors.

    The trend of securing work on your own terms is increasing. Individuals are working more jobs from home and setting their own hours. In 2013, 23 million people were self-employed, according the US Census Bureau – up about 24% from 2003. That number doesn’t count self-employed people who may also hire employees. These numbers will continue to increase as employers become more resourceful.

    At CCPE, we offer several certificate-based training programs that can lead to a promising career that doesn’t lock you into the office grind. If food is your passion, our Culinary Apprenticeship program is designed to help you break into the restaurant or catering business. In fact, two of our recent graduates have launched their own food truck businesses – Habanero Grill Food Truck and C’est Tout Bon 2 Eat – and another opened her own restaurant.

    Are you an outgoing person that can’t imagine a minute of being disconnected from technology? Our Social Media Marketing course can help you realize the power of posting. Derek Brott, a 2015 graduate, started his own social media consultancy firm as a result of the knowledge he gained in the class.

    If you’re interested in the healthcare and fitness space, several courses are designed to tap into your entrepreneurial spirit. Chris Foster, who graduated from our Professional Development in Gerontology program, now owns and operates a non-medical home care agency in Atlanta. Our Personal Trainer and Health Coach programs will provide you the knowledge to help transform people’s lives for the better.

    Do you possess excellent observational skills and an analytical mind? If so, our Professional Investigator program may be for you. Today, a wide variety of agencies, law firms, insurance companies and government entities rely on savvy investigators who can unearth facts, compile evidence and contribute to the resolution of complex issues. Does the thought of numbers excite you? Our unique Bookkeeping Professional course will provide you the skills necessary to become savvy with the QuickBooks accounting software package installed on an individually-assigned, remote computer.
