ISSP Grad Ready for New Career
Seme Eroh, an Information Systems Security Professional graduate, wanted to find a career that was relevant in the digital age. With three young children, he was dedicated to continuing his education and beginning this new career.
He signed up for the ISSP course once deciding that this path was one he was interested in learning more about. In this course, students are trained on how to secure information systems by learning the fundamentals and processes in preparation for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional exam.
After completing the course, Seme engaged in intense preparation for the certification test. When Seme learned he passed the CISSP® exam, he said, “It was the feeling of relief that I had passed this very difficult exam. I could not believe it.”
The examples from instructor Dr. Humayun Zafar’s helped Seme the most when it came time to prepare for the exam. It was this that stuck to Seme’s memory. He dedicated himself to going to the library every day after work and during weekends. For a month before the test, he used all the tools accessible to him through CCPE. This included the study guide and online practice kits. He also reconnected with Humayun for his help.
“Having a professor that had real-world experience was helpful,” Seme said. “He took a very broad and difficult topic and opened our eyes to it.”
New to the world of security, Seme found the class intimidating at first. However, with the help of Humayun and his new certification, Seme wants to go in Security Governance, Risk and Compliance. He said, “I know that I need keep trying until I get the right company for me.”
