Program and Student Awarded at Regional Conference
The University Professional and Continuing Education Association held its Mid-Atlantic and South Regional Conference from Oct. 1-3 in Bethesda, MD. Our Medical Assisting Certificate received the Program of Excellence Award.
Students in this program complete 12 months of rigorous instruction and hands-on training followed by a two-month externship in a physician’s office or urgent care setting.

Andrea Cochran, director of programs, said, “This recognition is a testament to the quality of the healthcare education we provide at CCPE. This program’s launch in 2013 involved constructing a specialized classroom complete with a clinical setting. Certified medical professionals deliver lectures to our students as well as provide skills training and assessment. Our graduates enter the workforce trained by the best.”
Kenneth Danter received the Continuing Education Student Award. Kenneth, a Navy veteran, successfully completed our Cisco and Ethical Hacker professional certificate programs. You might recognize him from the cover of the Summer 2018 Course Catalog where he was highlighted for his achievements in the classroom and his career.

Upon learning of his win, Kenneth said, “Wow! I am truly honored and I thank you all for everything you all have done for me. Every completed course from CCPE has caused a huge jump in my career path and I am very thankful for the opportunities that you all provide.”
Dr. Tim Blumentritt, interim dean, and Davia Rose Lassiter, director of marketing, were both on hand to accept the awards on behalf of CCPE. Davia also led a concurrent session titled “Bull’s Eye: A Multi-Layered Approach to Target Marketing” and co-presented “The CRM Spectrum: Finding a Solution that Fits” with Eric McGee, director of client services for JMH Consulting, a division of Education Dynamics.
“CCPE is dedicated to enhancing lives through professional education,” Tim said. “From our programs to our students, our college provides options and solutions to adult learners looking to advance and excel. The recognition from UPCEA is tremendous, and we will continue to serve this community through innovation and empowerment via education.”
