Data Science and Analytics Certificates at CPE
The College of Professional Education is excited to partner with the Analytics and Data Science Institute at KSU to improve access to three cutting-edge professional certificates: Applied Statistics using SAS, Applied Statistics using R, and Applied Data Science using Python. With convenient online payment and a full registration team to assist future students, these online certificates are open to anyone, from KSU undergraduates to industry professionals.
“Learning how to work with data — big and small, structured and unstructured — is a requirement of most job descriptions and will help position our students to be competitive in the job market,” said Dr. Jennifer Priestley, executive director of the institute, professor of statistics and associate dean of the Graduate College. “The online certificates have been developed to meet the needs of working professionals. The material is on-demand and self-paced with heavy emphasis on application rather than on theory. The materials, while rigorous, are accessible to individuals regardless of their computational background. At KSU, we believe that everyone should have a working knowledge of data science and possess basic data literacy skills.”
Kennesaw State is the only university in the state of Georgia authorized by SAS to issue a Certificate in Statistical Analysis using SAS. Both analytics certificates are extensions of the University’s applied statistics curriculum. The data science certificate, meanwhile, helps students build their programming skills and strengthen their expertise in data visualization.
An added benefit of the partnership with CPE is the expansion of financial aid. Along with a 50 percent military discount, other financial assistance includes My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) funding for military spouses, student loans, and a corporate discount for companies registering five or more employees.
