Update: March 18, 2020
On Monday, March 16, President Pamela Whitten announced that all of Kennesaw State’s spring classes will move online for the remainder of the spring semester. This announcement follows directives from the University System of Georgia. Information about her decision, as well as regular updates about KSU’s response to the coronavirus, is available at this website.
The College of Professional Education (CPE) is a key part of KSU’s academic mission. We exist to help people enter professions, advance careers, and enjoy life through education. On behalf of the instructors and staff, it is an honor to participate in the USG’s mission to Educate Georgia.
As you may know, CPE operates on a different schedule than other colleges within KSU. While the university offers classes on a semester schedule, CPE classes start just about every week. During this unprecedented time, we want to meet the professional education needs you may have while you are at home.
Here is our schedule during COVID-19:
1. CPE classes will be held using technology-enabled meetings beginning TODAY, Wednesday, March 18 through the end of April. KSU has excellent web conferencing technology available to all instructors. The learning platform may be different, but you will be able to see each other, ask questions, and engage in real-time conversations.
2. CPE courses will move forward as scheduled. CPE is open for learning online. The coronavirus makes our building unavailable to students, but it will not impact our commitment to education. Our methods of instruction will shift, but our quality of instruction will be the same.
3. At this time, registration for Summer University remains open. Our SummerU team is planning to hold summer camps as scheduled. Should the need arise to cancel camps due to health concerns surrounding COVID-19, please be assured that full refunds will be issued.
Of course, we live in a fluid world. We will be as flexible as the situation requires, and we will update you with new information along the way.
We know that the next few weeks will present challenges for everyone. We are here to help you with your courses so that once COVID-19 passes, you’re ready and prepared for what comes next.
Yours in Education,
Tim Blumentritt
Dean, College of Professional Education
