    What You Will Learn in this Course

    In the Project Management Certificate course, you will learn how to: 

    • Describe the 10 project management knowledge areas with key inputs, outputs, tools, and techniques.
    • Identify the PMI policies and procedures required to fulfill the standards of professional responsibility and ethics as a project manager.
    • Apply project management principles in scope management, schedule management, and teaming.
    • Identify the tools and techniques project managers use to plan and execute a project.
    • Analyze project flow, resources, timelines, and budget requirements.
    • Identify effective communication strategies within the project team and with stakeholders.
    • Monitor and control project work to meet objectives defined in the project management plan.

    Taught by industry professionals with years of experience, this course satisfies the 35 hours of project management training required by the Project Management Institute for the PMP® Certification.

    The course material covers the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)® Guide and Standards.     What is project management certification? 

    A project management certification is a designation given by the Project Management Institute (PMI) to professionals who meet certain education and experience criteria. It demonstrates proficiency and project management knowledge. 

    How do I get a project management certification? 

    There are several requirements that professionals must meet before they can apply for certification. Once an application has been accepted and approved, the individual must pass a lengthy and comprehensive exam to become a certified associate in project management. 

    What is a PMP?

    The project management professional certification (PMP) is unbiased proof of a person’s project management talents and expertise. It is accepted worldwide and gives better career opportunities, credibility, and increased income for those who have acquired it. 

    How do I get certified as a project management professional? 

    Complete the following four courses (in order) to earn your online Project Management Certificate. To qualify for a certificate and required project management training, all four of the following courses must be completed within three years: 

    1. Project Management Fundamentals 
    2. Project Management Applications 
    3. Business Analysis Introduction 
    4. High-Speed Project Management 

    Kennesaw State University (KSU) College of Graduate and Professional Education is a Project Management Institute (PMI)® Registered Education Provider. The KSU course material covers the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)® Guide and Standards. It will prepare you to take the Project Management Professional (PMP)® and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® exams. For employers, candidates who get the certificate show additional commitment to the project management career path. The average salary in the metro Atlanta area is $80,342 with the top 10% making over $114,000. Trends show that PMPs have from $15,000 to $20,000 increase in salary every 5 to 10 years.
