Researching the American Civil War
When beginning to research the American Civil War, one can face a daunting task if unsure of the various sources available – both primary and secondary accounts – and how to use them. During this course, we will explore basic research methods, investigate memoirs, regimental histories, and auto-biographies; and take a look at the myriad websites offering information ranging from period newspapers to soldier service records.
