This class is about what happened in the US during the tumultuous decade of the forties. Americans were swept into an unexpected war from the grey days of the depression. After nearly five years of uncertainty, peace would bring even more changes. We will look at the changes in demographics, women’s roles in the workforce, rising fear and hatred of the Japanese and several other themes and how popular culture affected our country at this time.
