The Spirit of Writing Fiction

Writing a story about situations (real or imagined) starring people (whom we refer to as characters) who carry the story, is often thought of as a work of imagination. But a writer is “all in,” pouring imagination, experience, and a whole lot of soul into their work. That’s where this course comes in! For eight weeks, Beth Hermes will guide you to follow your instincts, connect with your characters, and infuse the story with spirit that will connect the writer – and eventually the reader – to the world you brought to life!

Do you prefer to learn in our classroom or the comfort of your home? With our new Flex course format, you decide what works best for you. Our courses are taught live at a specific day and time in our clean, socially-distanced classroom and are simultaneously broadcast to our virtual classroom. With this flexible format, you choose one option when you register: to join the instructor in the physical classroom or join the class meeting remotely. Either way, you get the same quality instruction from an industry professional in a live meeting with other learners.
