AutoCAD is the most widely used computer-aided design (CAD) software for producing architectural, engineering, and construction drawings. This program will teach the core topics required for preparing professional drawings using AutoCAD.
Learn to navigate the AutoCAD workspace and use basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools of the software. You will organize drawing objects on layers and insert reusable blocks. Prepare layouts to plot and add text, hatching, and dimensions. You will complete a hands-on project in this program that can be used as a foundation for your professional portfolio. Textbook is required at the first class meeting and is available at the KSU Center bookstore.
Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate basic drawing and editing commands
- Organize drawings using layers
- Create advanced object types such as arcs, polylines, polygons, and ellipses
- Set up and organize layouts in AutoCAD
- Create and edit text in a drawing
- Apply dimensions to drawings
- Demonstrate how to annotate drawings
