Medical Assistant projects a 34% growth in job openings within the next five years. In our NEW hybrid program, KSU CPE combines fast-track learning with real-world experience in a fraction of the time and cost of similar programs. You will train in our combination classroom and healthcare settings featuring exam room stations, a front office simulation area, and hands-on skills practice.
We prepare you to perform clinical and administrative tasks in the healthcare setting. Our program includes lectures and hands-on training where you will learn human anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical office procedures, pharmacology, medical law and ethics, and clinical procedures.
Hands-on training is performed in capturing vital signs and measurements, venipuncture, laboratory procedures, electrocardiography, and assisting with examinations and minor procedures. This hybrid certificate program will assist you in preparing for one of the national medical assistant credentialing examinations:

National Center for Competency Testing
This certificate program is completed in under a year and shall prepare competent, entry-level, career-ready medical assistants in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.

Meet Nurse Kia HERE
Nikal Redwine
Nikal “Kia” Redwine, CMA (AAMA), RN, is a continuing education instructor for KSU’s Medical Assisting certificate program. She has served terms as the president of the Georgia Society of Medical Assistants and serves on several committees and boards for the American Association of Medical Assistants.
Redwine received her associate’s degree in nursing from West Georgia Technical College. She then earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University. Additionally, Redwine received a Medical Assistant certificate from Medix School.
