Online Courses FAQs

Do I have to be online at a specific time?

Currently, none of our online courses require you to be online at a specific time.

How many online courses can I take at one time?

We recommend that you start out with only one or two online courses per month, until you get a feel for the pace of these courses and how they work with your own schedule.

How do I access my online course?

How you access your online course depends on what course you are in. Please refer to your receipt of registration or your welcome email for access information. If you have lost this information, please contact online@kennesaw.edu.

How long do I have to complete the course?

The length of time you have to complete your course varies. For our Online Courses with specific start dates, you generally have about two weeks after the final exam release date to complete all assignments, quizzes, and the final exam (for a total of 8 weeks). For our Career Training Certificate Programs, you may have from 3 to 12 months to complete, depending upon the specific program.

What if I don’t finish in the time allowed?

Most of our courses do offer an extension possibility, though we encourage you to complete your courses in a timely manner. If you need to request an extension, please contact online@kennesaw.edu for instructions. Extension fees may apply.

How will I receive my lessons, quizzes and assignments?

Each course comes complete with an online classroom. You will be able to use your web browser to access the online classroom, obtain your course materials, and communicate with your instructor.

Will my online course have an instructor?

During your online course, you will have access to an instructor or facilitator that can answer your questions.

Are books included in the price of this course?

Books are included with some courses, but not all. Many courses do not require separate books. Please check the individual course description to find out if books are included for your course. If books are required but not included in the price, the course description will include information about the required books. Please contact online@kennesaw.edu for questions regarding books.

How can I get the software I need for my online course?

You can purchase most software needed for an online course at academic prices through the KSU Bookstore. To purchase software from the KSU Bookstore, you must have a permission letter from the program coordinator. For more information on this, please contact online@kennesaw.edu.

What is your refund policy?

Our refund policy varies depending on the type of course in which you are enrolled. Please visit our online course refund policy section from the Registration Policies page.

How do I get my certificate?

You do not need to request a certificate. We will mail you a certificate within a few weeks upon your successful completion. If you have completed one of our series certificates (composed of various 6-week Online Courses), you will receive a certificate within a few weeks of completing the final course in the series.
