A practical, empowering start toward life after high school

Students will learn from Sherrie Goodman, KSU’s Director of Employer and Corporate Relations in the Department of Career Planning and Development, affectionately known as Ms. Sherrie to her students.

Through engaging classroom sessions and hands-on activities, students gain a practical glimpse into the experiences that await them in adulthood. Ms. Sherrie helps students build confidence, awareness, and excitement about their futures, so they feel prepared, not overwhelmed.

Adulting 101 is exactly what it sounds like. Students explore their strengths, interests, skills, and goals while developing essential life and career tools.

This week-long, immersive camp covers:

Smart financial habits
Career readiness skills
Professional communication
Interview preparation
Time management
Goal setting
Navigating everyday responsibilities

The most important thing you should know about Adulting 101 is that this class is all about helping you feel confident and prepared for real life. This isn’t a boring lecture class. It’s hands-on, interactive, and designed to make adulting feel doable, exciting, and empowering. If you want a course that gives you life skills you can use immediately, this is the one.

Adulting 101 equips students with essential life and career skills that support a successful transition into adulthood. This interactive course fills the gap between classroom learning and real-world expectations, giving students the tools, knowledge, and mindset they need to become responsible, capable young adults who are ready to make informed choices after high school.

I am looking into this Adulting 101 class for my son who will be a junior this year. If it’s summer only, he could potentially do summer of 2027 when he we’ll be a rising senior. At what point should I begin looking at your schedule for next summer to ensure I register him before the camp is full (rough estimate is fine). Thank you! – Linda
