This course cover Chapters 1-4 contained in Primera Parte (Part I) of the Textbook (see Required Textbook below). Chapter 1 will introduce students to greetings, exchanges, and farewell expressions. Students will also see words that are similar in English and Spanish. The lesson will transition into the introduction of Spanish words, their meanings, and masculine nouns vs. feminine nouns. In Chapter 2, students will study family names and how to indicate relationships among their family and others’ families. Chapter 3 will take students to the school and classroom! Students will study the names of objects associated with school and the classroom and later identify those items existent within their own physical classroom. With the College since 2007, Nancy has her Masters in Spanish and a TESOL Certificate. Nancy has been instrumental in shaping the courses in ESL for us. She was justly-awarded Outstanding Educator of the Year by the GAEA in 2015. Nancy teaches Spanish in our OLLI program to seniors.
