Which Path Fits You?

Use this short guide to decide how you’d like to learn with Ed2Go's online courses. Think of it like a quick conversation with an advisor helping you match your goals, schedule, and budget.

Fundamental Courses

Short, skill-building classes (self-guided or instructor-moderated). Ideal if you’re exploring a new field, adding a specific skill, or testing online learning.

Typical time: 6 weeks (moderated) or up to 3 months (self-guided)

Career Training Programs

In-depth, flexible programs designed to support career change, advancement, or certification. You can move at your pace and even pause for a month or two if life gets busy.

Typical time: 6–18 months with flexible scheduling

What’s your primary goal right now?
  • I want to explore a field and see if it’s a good fit.
  • I need a specific skill quickly for work or a side interest.
  • I’m preparing for a new role, promotion, or industry change.
  • I may need certification or credentials employers recognize.
If you’re exploring or upskilling, Fundamentals are a low-commitment way to start. If you’re targeting a new career or credential, explore Career Training options.
How do you like to learn?
  • Fully online at my own pace.
  • Online with structure, deadlines, and instructor guidance.
  • In person or hands-on, with face-to-face interaction.
Online, flexible learning aligns well with Ed2Go Fundamental and Career Training programs. Prefer on-campus or in-person experiences? Explore additional KSU CPE classroom and certificate programs to see what fits best.
How much time can you commit each week?
  • A few hours weekly for a short period (about 6–8 weeks).
  • 5–10+ hours weekly over several months, with room to pause if needed.
If your schedule is tight or you’re testing the waters, Fundamentals keep things manageable. If you can invest more time over the long term, a Career Training program offers deeper preparation.
What kind of support and outcomes do you expect?
  • I’m comfortable learning independently with clear content.
  • I’d like instructor involvement, guidance, or checkpoints.
  • I want training that aligns with real job postings and certifications.
Both paths offer quality content. Fundamentals are great for independent learners. Career Training programs often align more closely with employer expectations and certification prep—review the descriptions to confirm.

Not sure yet? It’s completely okay to explore. Read a few course descriptions, compare outcomes, and choose the option that fits your life today—not forever.

Frequently Asked Questions for Online Courses

Quick answers about formats, CEUs, certificates, timelines, and support.

I’m having technical issues with my Ed2Go course. Who do I contact?
Contact Ed2Go in the Ed2Go Student Center portal or email online@kennesaw.edu. Be sure to include your name, email address, course title and a brief description of the technical issue.
How many CEUs do I earn for each course?
CEUs (Continuing Education Units) reflect contact hours. As a guide, 10 contact hours = 1 CEU (e.g., 24 course hours = 2.4 CEUs).
How do I receive my certificate of completion?

Fundamental courses: Your certificate of completion will automatically be available to print or download in your “My Classroom” homepage immediately after successfully passing the final exam. Click the Completion button to access.

Career courses: Your physical certificate will be mailed to your home address the first week of the month after your completion date (e.g., a 9/15/25 completion date means the certificate is mailed the first week of October).

How do I use the over 62 age tuition waiver toward the cost of my course?
As courses offered by KSU’s Community and Professional Education (CPE) division are not for academic credit toward a degree, the senior tuition waiver cannot be used. No “tuition” is charged since this is not toward a degree. CPE courses are certificate-based and award CEUs.
What’s the difference between Fundamental and Career courses?

Fundamental courses are short, skill-building courses for personal or professional use.

  • Instructor-Moderated: Start monthly; lessons released twice a week; six-week access with instructor support.
  • Self-Guided: Immediate access to all lessons; up to three months to complete; designed for independent learners without instructor support.

Career courses are longer, career-focused programs (typically 6–18 months) that can help you start a new career and often include third-party certification exam vouchers.

Are the Ed2Go courses for academic credit?
No. Ed2Go courses are offered for CEUs and a certificate of completion.
When do courses start and how long do I have access to the content?
  • Self-guided Fundamental courses: Start anytime and work at your own pace within the 3-month access period.
  • Instructor-moderated Fundamentals: New sessions begin monthly, with two lessons released weekly during the 6-week access period.
  • Career courses: Most begin upon completed enrollment and range from 6–18 months. Some are instructor-moderated only, depending on content. Most courses also include third-party exam vouchers.
What are the technology requirements?
You’ll need reliable internet and a computer that meets the course minimum specs. Some courses require specific software (e.g., Microsoft Excel). Check the “Requirements” section on the course page before enrolling.
Do Ed2Go courses include exam vouchers?
Many Career courses include the cost of the third-party exam in the price of the course. See the course page for details.
Are textbooks an additional charge?
No. Textbooks are included in the cost of the course.
How can my employer pay for my Ed2Go course?
Many learners use employer tuition assistance or professional development funds. You can reach out to our financial assistance team at cefinancialaid@kennesaw.edu for more information.
How do I get my Ed2Go certificates to reflect KSU for GaPSC teacher recertification?
Email online@kennesaw.edu with your name and the email address used for the course(s), and we’ll email you a PDF version for easy submission to GaPSC.
How do I request a replacement Ed2Go certificate?
Email online@kennesaw.edu with your name, the email address used for the course(s), and the course title(s). We’ll email you a PDF version. This may take extra time if course(s) were completed more than five years ago.
How do I request an official transcript to be mailed to a third party?
To request an official transcript for Community and Professional Education or Ed2Go courses, please complete the official request form. A secure Liquid Files email will be sent after we receive the DocuSign request. The credit card payment form must be completed, and the processing fee ($10) will be applied upon confirmation of your transcript in our database.
What is the Ed2Go refund policy?

Fundamental courses (self-guided and instructor-moderated):
Enrollments can be dropped and refunded within ten (10) calendar days after the access/start date, provided less than 50% of coursework has been completed and the final exam has not been viewed/taken.

Advanced Career Training (ACT):
Enrollments can be dropped and refunded within ten (10) calendar days of the start date. This may not apply to all ACT programs; some programs are non-refundable. Students are responsible for material costs if not returned to Ed2Go in new condition.
