Medical Office Assistants are immersed in the daily front office operations of physician, dental, chiropractic, and veterinary offices, as well as medical centers, nursing homes, and clinics. Medical Office Assistants may handle responsibilities for patient scheduling, patient check-in and out, practice communications, reimbursements, and records management.

Our Medical Coding Specialist Certificate program will train you to successfully serve as the communication liaison between physician offices, patients, and insurance companies while translating and assigning universally recognized codes to patient illnesses, injuries, and medical procedures. It also includes lecture and hands-on instruction teaching you ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding guidelines and conventions, outpatient and physician office, and HCPCS level II index coding. Additionally, you will learn CPT coding, with emphasis on evaluation and management, anesthesia, surgery, radiology, pathology and laboratory, and medicine coding.
