About the Culinary Apprenticeship Certificate
If you have a passion for food and hospitality, the Culinary Apprenticeship Certificate can help you build the skills and confidence to pursue opportunities in the culinary industry. Serving the Atlanta metro area, this hands-on culinary training experience prepares students for careers in catering, event production, restaurants, and fine dining environments.
Unlike a traditional classroom-only culinary school model, this apprenticeship-style program emphasizes real-world kitchen experience in a professional setting. Students develop practical skills and industry insight while working alongside experienced culinary professionals.
Students gain practical training in:
- Professional cooking techniques
- Kitchen operations and workflow
- Food safety and sanitation
- Menu development
- Restaurant preparation and service environments
Students can select the schedule that works best for them: an accelerated 11-week Fast-Track option or the traditional 22-week program. The curriculum is the same for both pathways. The traditional program meets once a week, while the Fast-Track program meets twice a week.
Students exploring culinary school options in the Metro Atlanta area benefit from focused skills training, mentorship, and career-ready preparation designed to meet the needs of today’s hospitality industry. Whether you are beginning your culinary journey or refining your expertise, this program provides structured, hands-on learning to help you move forward with confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions
What elevates this certificate above other similar programs?
This certificate course is immersive and places our students in working kitchens to enhance their learning. Students are given the opportunity to work in different types of kitchens and experience different styles of food preparation. This system allows students to meet various chefs, cooks, and hospitality leaders to enhance networking. We try to have students experience an industrial, fine dining, senior living, and a catering kitchen.
Why do I need health insurance and a background check?
Health Insurance is required because of the apprenticeship portion of this program. CPE students will be working as apprentices in live kitchens and injuries are not covered under worker’s compensation. Background checks - All students must successfully complete a background check before being placed into an apprenticeship site.
Are there payment options?
Yes. This program accepts payment plans, scholarships, MyCAA, educational loans, and other benefits. Contact Enrollment at 470-578-6768 to discuss all of our finance options. Learn more about all of our financial aid options.
What other supplies will I need?
Each student is required to have a chef’s knife set (not required on the first night of class), black non-skid shoes, and black chef pants, and cover any transportation costs. It is recommended to purchase a food thermometer and a small notebook and pen set. These supplies are at the expense of the student. Chef coats and textbooks are provided.
I currently work in a kitchen. Can I use that towards my apprenticeship hours?
No, all apprenticeship hours must be completed at one of the pre-approved kitchens that we partner with. All the sites we partner with go through a long process to be approved apprenticeship locations to ensure you have the best educational experience.
How does the apprenticeship work?
Students will be assigned to various apprenticeship locations throughout the class and will complete a total of 240 apprenticeship hours with a mentor’s guidance at their apprenticeship site. Students must turn in hard copies of their time sheets, signed in ink by their mentor each week.
