How Will I Learn?

Through a series of hands-on, portfolio-ready projects, you will simulate real-world drafting workflows from architectural floor plans to drawing set production. You will also learn to collaborate like professional teams, utilizing external references, shared standards, and cloud-based tools to emulate vendor relationships and facilitate remote project delivery. Finally, the program will spark your entrepreneurial side by having you create your very own fictitious drafting company, allowing you to develop skills in company branding, file structure, and CAD standards. This class allows you the flexibility to enroll as an in-person student or attend online-live.

What Do I Need To Take the Class?

Textbooks are required and are available at the KSU Bookstore. Call (470) 578-6261 or visit the bookstore website for pricing and availability. When contacting the bookstore, please identify yourself as a CPE student.

Working knowledge of computers and access to a laptop or desktop computer and the Internet are required. Access to AutoCAD software is included in the cost of the class. Information regarding access to the AutoCAD software will be emailed to students prior to the class start date. We strongly recommend that students have access to a Windows computer for this class. MAC computers are not recommended. Access to Microsoft Office is recommended. Please ensure that your computer also matches the recommended system requirements at the Autodesk Systems Requirements reference page.

Special notice: This class will be delivered online. You will need access to an internet connection that remains stable for the duration of the class. Though a chat feature is available, a microphone is preferred. For most productive audio/video participation, a webcam and/or headset are encouraged. Virtual classes may be recorded.
