Tyra Burton
A senior lecturer of marketing at KSU since 2003, Tyra Burton helped develop and launch CCPE’s Social Media Marketing certificate program in 2013. An innovator in the classroom, she has taught students for more than 20 years on topics ranging from advertising to mythology.
Her first book, Socially Engaged: The Author’s Guide to Social Media, written with Jana Oliver, was published in October 2014. She is currently working on a follow-up social media book for independent authors.
Burton earned her B.B.A. in marketing from Georgia State University before receiving her M.S.M. in marketing and management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
The self-described gamer-girl and gadget geek, Burton lives in Atlanta with her husband and their three socially engaging fur babies.
