Tips for Culinary Arts Camp Participants

Students enrolled in Baking and Pastry, Baking Finishing Touches or Chef’s Master Class should be prepared for a more hands-on kitchen environment.

  • Wear closed-toed, non-slip shoes: These are required for kitchen safety.
  • Pull hair back: Hair should be tied back or covered with a cap or bandana.
  • Dress safely: Avoid baggy sleeves or dangling jewelry.
  • Bring to-go containers: Students may want containers for taking home their creations.
  • Set expectations ahead of time: Talk with your student beforehand so they are ready to participate fully, follow instructions and enjoy both structured and social parts of the day.
