Develop essential skills you will utilize throughout your legal career, including the parameters, policies, and the different types of programs you will be using as a paralegal. Focus on the nuts and bolts of a law office and the various legal management areas including legal fees, timekeeping, billing and financial management, ethics and professional responsibility. You will also be introduced to Microsoft Office Suite, document assembly software, trial presentation software and online legal research engines.
Students are required to have access to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Students should bring their textbook to class. Access to a PC computer is required.
Please note that this is an eight-week course.
Special notice: This class will be delivered online. You will need access to a computer with an internet connection that remains stable for the duration of the class. Though a chat feature is available, a microphone is preferred. For most productive audio/video participation, a webcam and/or headset are encouraged. Virtual classes may be recorded.
Kimberly Ralich
Since 2014, Kimberly “Kim” Ralich has served as a continuing education instructor for KSU’s Paralegal certificate program. Ralich began her second career when she started as a paralegal at LoRusso Law Firm, P.C., in Atlanta in 2010. While at LoRusso, she specialized in personal injury, medical malpractice, defamation, FLSA and police officer disciplinary issues to include POST. Ralich began working at the Gillis Law Firm, LLC, in Marietta, on February 2021, handling personal injury cases, criminal cases, defamation and administrative hearings. She retired from the United States Marine Corps after 21 years of service. Ralich retired with the rank of Master Sergeant and spent twelve years working in the JAG corps. Ralich received her bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies from Kaplan University where she achieved summa cum laude status.
